I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Sean, and I’m a musician, guitarist, gaymer geek, and a full-stack software developer that specializes in web development. I’ve been working on Void for quite some time now, and I’m finally ready to come out of my musical solitude, to show the world my art and expression.
I picked up the guitar at age 14, and have been in love with it ever since. I was an avid metalhead growing up, influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Slayer, Wintersun, and much more. I also enjoyed electronic music and its many different genres, from Tiesto to Deadmau5 and Prodigy. I was always curious about how music was created, so I began learning music production, sound design, mixing, composing, and beat-making.
Void started when I was 20 years old after I was kicked out of a metal band for being homosexual. It represents a dark period of my life starting from age 12 where I suffered from depression and anxiety, leading to a diagnosis of Bipolar Type 1, ADHD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder in adulthood. It also embodies the beauty, light, and vibrancy that emerged from such a struggle through musical expression.
Thank you for reading a bit of my journey, and for tuning in! Lots more to come.
“The dark and the light, they exist side by side. Sometimes overlapping, one explaining the other. The darkened path is as illuminated as the lightened…”
